Beginning in 1986 in a ladies 5-a-side league based in Harlow, the team developed into an 11-a-side team named Harlow Town Ladies Football Club. The club which was unaffiliated to the larger Harlow Town Football Club undertook a name change which saw them become Bishops Stortford Ladies Football Club.

A final development in 2001 saw the club move to where it is currently happily situated at Sawbridgeworth Town Football Club. Up until recently the former manager Dave Dawson was instrumental to the developments and changes within the club under its various names.

We're an old team to the league, but a new and different club.

This season Sawbridgeworth Town Women's Football Club is starting fresh. A new approach as a committee run club has opened communication and has everyone pulling in the same direction towards what will hopefully be a successful season. Ideas, plans, finances and everything else is discussed openly and all decisions are made as a unit creating a great atmosphere on and off the pitch.

With the help and support of Sawbridgeworth Town Football Club and a selection of coaches focussed on developing players individually and us as a squad. With everyone working hard improving our football is the goal and the results are beginning to show

We are a committed group of players and are always looking for new people to join, involvement can be as little or as much as you like. There is a range of abilities within the players and new people are always welcome. Whether you would like to just train or train and play we can accommodate you, just get in touch.

Though we love our football there is more to us than training and 90 minutes on a Sunday. There is a strong social side to the club with frequent events for people to come along to. During the summer months barbecues, drinks and Party on the Pitch just a few of things we do to pass the time.

Winter sees Halloween and Christmas socials bring the club together during those few weeks off bringing the team back together. It's not all football either, we've become rather good at golf after sessions at Top Golf. Everyone that plays and more are welcome to events and there will always be friendly faces, whether you know everyone or no-one you'll be made to feel welcome.
